Reports & data

Reports, and getting your data out

Which numbers are real, how to build a CSV, and the one board that is sample data.

The numbers are your own records

Every report reads the same records your day-to-day screens write — your bookings, visits, invoices, payments, expenses, locations, services and team, in your business's timezone. There is no separate reporting copy of your data that can drift out of step with what you see elsewhere.

Money figures come from your own books rather than from anything Sitterz earned, so what you see is what your business took.

Every board is your data

Every figure on the reports page is drawn from your own records. Earlier builds carried a sample-figure canvas labelled Preview beside them; it was removed on 2 September 2026, so nothing on that page is a demonstration any more.

Building an export

The Export and report builder page lets you choose the columns you want, preview the rows as you go, and download the result as a CSV. That is the file to hand your bookkeeper.

A ledger export is also available as CSV or in a format accounting software reads. It refuses to produce a file at all when the journal does not balance, on the view that no file is safer than a half-right one, and Sitterz stores no chart of accounts — the account names travel with that one download and are not kept.

Saved views, and emailing one on a schedule

A set of columns and a date window can be saved as a view. Managers can read saved views; creating, replacing and deleting them is the Owner's.

A view can be put on a schedule, with two caveats worth knowing before you rely on it. The recipients can only be people already on your team — there is no box to type an outside accountant's address, by design. And the CSV arrives inside the body of the email rather than as an attachment, and a very long one is cut short.

Scheduled delivery also depends on the deployment running its scheduled job, so if a schedule is set and nothing arrives, that is the thing to check.

There is no download-everything button

Sitterz has no self-service export of your entire workspace and no self-service account deletion. Those are requests you make to us and a person carries out. If you need either, email support and say so plainly.

Reports are closed to Staff and to families entirely — the section refuses them rather than showing an empty version.
